So we are supposed to be in Boston right now. We packed up our stuff, took the animals to the sitter's, and drove to Kansas City so that we could stay at our favorite hotel and catch an early flight. At around 9 last night Lea started vomiting. It was all night. I have no idea how many times I changed the both of us, and I don't know if I will ever get that smell out of my nose. So we rescheduled our flight and drove back home. We took Lea to the doctors who x-rayed her torso to make sure she hadn't swallowed anything (I am paranoid that this will happen) and she came out clear. So we are waiting on the bug to pass. Every time I think she is over it, out come the liquids I spent the past few hours slowly giving her. She is being so sweet about all of it, though, which is almost heartbreaking. She's smiling, letting doctors poke and prod, and just cuddling.
Anyways, after this thing winds down, we will be on our way out. To those I will not be seeing on the trip, Happy Holidays.

Not out of touch
So I pretty much did away with myspace and this is my alternative. I thought myspace was a wonderful way to keep up with people for a while there, but it just got old for me. I started noticing that it really doesn't maintain quality relationships. It's flashy, I was getting alarming emails from people I didn't really know, and I just wanted a different way to keep in touch with people. So I am trying this out. I am going to blog. I have written a few in the past, and I have to admit that I feel a little silly about it, but whatever. For those who really want to know where I am at in life, here goes. I will just hit a few key points because I am very tired.
Miles, Lea, the dogs, and I are moving to Germany for a few years.
I just earned an Associates degree with a 3.65 GPA. Yay! I'm modest, too.
I am going for a double major for Social psychology and sociology right now.
We found a dog on the side of the highway and bought him upon finding that his owners weren't caring properly for him. We now have 2 dogs
We have to find a home for Fred the cat which is complicated because of his FIV. We are trying to see if someone is willing to care for him until we get back. There are restrictions on pets in Germany. I feel sick over all of this.
Lea is doing new things all the time. She is amazing! I am more excited about being a mom every day.
We found a great church just in time to leave Kansas, but we will be back. Oh yes, we like it here.
I am trying to become more solid in my faith. I have so much work to do there.
Miles is my very best friend. I like to grope him.
I read a lot. Big shocker there.
I bake a lot of bread and am a little obsessed with cookbooks and nutrition factoids.
The K9 boys and I walk a couple of miles a day.
I have never been this happy
