Food Inc

Miles and I rented this documentary a few days ago. We were very impressed by the film and horrified by the practices and human exploitation behind the major food companies that operate in the US. Some of the statistics involving children and obesity were alarming and it came down to the fact that many families are either uneducated about nutrition or cannot afford to eat nutritiously. I would recommend this film to anyone.

  1. Wow, great trailer. I wonder if they have it at the library? We have actually been searching for a local market/produce stand around here for next year. We also have been searching for farms that sell products directly from their farm.
We grew our own garden, which I totally recommend. There is just something great about eating something you grew your self from a seed. Hannah loved going out and picking strawberries rinsing them off and eating them right there, still warm from the sun!! We loved it too, we had broccoli all the way up till last week when it snowed and broke the plants in half from the weight. I love gardening!
I am also researching milk. If its safe to buy it right from the farm? Why is unpasterized milk bad? Whats the process of pasterization? All that fun stuff. Its amazing how much crap goes into our bodies on a daily basis and we don't even realize it.
    Thanks for the trailer!
I will be looking for it!
