Tick. . . . . . . tock. . . . . . etc
My past two nights have been spent in certainty that I am going into labor. By the end of each day, I have BHCs every couple of minutes, and by the time that I am off to bed, they've gotten rather painful. My body is teasing me, though, because a few hours with my feet up cure all labor symptoms. The fact that I can't sleep anymore seems to be irrelevant. My 39 week appointment is tomorrow, but I don't think they'll be able to tell me anything. I am a bit unwilling to have any internal exams done. I have heard of women being 3 or 4 cm dilated for weeks, so I'll forgo the intrusion and possible disappointment. I am not desperate enough to give birth (yet) that 5 mile walks and nipple clamps hold any appeal. I just wish I could bend over without getting a mouth/nose full of stomach acid. At this point, I have some strong arguments for the folks who sing of the beauty of pregnancy.

Eeek. I hate that! I had good strong, consistent contractions for 3 weeks. It sucked.
ReplyDeleteI also was 3.5 cm for 4 weeks! So it will probably do you some good not to get checked. I hope he comes out soon.
Here's to a smooth and "easy" delivery! :)
I am so excited for you! I know its miserable! I hope that your labor is easy for you! I miss you guys sooo much! Hannah decorated the box last night for you guys (the inside anyway) I put some stuff in there that I had for Hannah incase she was a boy, hope you don't mind some second hand stuff, if you don't use it just pass it on :). I am hoping we can send the box out this weekend!! Can't wait to see little Noah! Miss you! Hannah says Hi Lea!!!
ReplyDeletei'll be sending gentle labor vibes your way mama! here's to hoping you don't have to be uncomfortable for much longer. :)
ReplyDeleteJessi- I would HATE to hear that I am that dilated and then have to wait for x many weeks. I already feel like a time bomb. I think it's best not to know just for the sake of my sanity. . . which is fragile on the best of days ;)
ReplyDeleteBrittney- thank you so much! I have NO problem with second hand stuff. I just picked up a gently used swing this morning, in fact, for a quarter of the Amazon sticker price. Yay for saving money!
QB- thanks!
